DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1
Arrive Arenal Manoa Hotel, Arenal Volcano
Upon arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica you will be met and driven approximately 3 hours to Arenal Manoa Hotel in the Arenal Volcano region. Arenal Manoa is a modern hotel showcasing awe-inspiring views of Arenal Volcano throughout the property and beautiful well-kept gardens.
Day 2
Hanging Bridges & Tabacon Hot Springs
Begin your morning exploring a private nature reserve led by a professional naturalist guide through forested trails. Discover the rainforest canopy from eight fixed bridges and six hanging bridges. Uncover the enigmatic relationships of the forest between the flora and fauna found there with the help of your expert guide. Following the hike, transfer to Tabacon Thermal Resort to rest tired muscles in a variety of thermal springs naturally heated by Arenal Volcano. Enjoy a full lunch before returning to Arenal Manoa Hotel for overnight.
Day 3
Pure Nature Safari Float
Leisurely float down the Frio River on a boat with no motors looking for monkeys, turtles, sloths, iguanas, and birds. A professional naturalist will show you the unique treasures and relationships of the river. After your float, have homemade snacks at a family farm and practice your Spanish! Day 4
Transfer to Monteverde Lodge, Monteverde
Today you will be picked up and driven to the boat launch at Arenal Dam for a boat transfer across Lake Arenal. From there, you'll take a 45-minute pontoon ride to the dock at Rio Chiquito, a small town on the shore of Lake Arenal. Upon arrival, you will be driven approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours to Monteverde Lodge for overnight.

Monteverde Lodge is one of the most well-known lodges in the area with large comfortable rooms, beautiful gardens, a restaurant and bar, and a Jacuzzi - perfect for soaking in after a day exploring the cloud forest.
Day 5
Monteverde Reserve Hike / Don Juan Coffee & Chocolate
In the morning, discover the high-elevation cloud forest with a professional naturalist guide. Hike along misty trails looking for wildlife while your guide points out blooming bromeliads, prehistoric tree ferns, many birds that call Monteverde home. This is a birding paradise! Be on the lookout for the rare Resplendent Quetzal!

In the afternoon, you'll be driven to Don Juan's Coffee Plantation for a tour and tasting! Begin with an introduction to the lifecycle of the coffee plant. Discover how coffee cherries are picked. Then, you'll see how the pulp was originally removed before visiting the drying house. Next, learn a bit about the cocoa pod and some traditional recipes. Finally, try out the original method of extracting sugar cane. Don't forget to do plenty of taste testing! Day 6
Transfer to Hotel Si Como No, Manuel Antonio
Today you will be met and driven approximately 3 1/2 hours to Hotel Si Como No overnight outside Manuel Antonio National Park for overnight. This upscale resort is set high up on a forested cliff with breathtaking views overlooking the coast.
Day 7
Manuel Antonio National Park Hike
Manuel Antonio is Costa Rica's favorite little national park with three of the country's most beautiful white sand beaches bordered by thick rainforest and trails overflowing with wildlife. Walk along the trails with a professional naturalist guide observing the wonders of the rainforest and the diversity of wildlife - there are over 109-known mammal species and 184 bird species found within the park. Day 8
Sunset Catamaran
Nature lovers will love the afternoon catamaran tours for its breathtaking sunset over the Pacific Ocean! Dolphins, humpback whales, other marine life can be seen from the deck of the catamaran! Onboard, enjoy a variety of snacks and drinks while navigating the coast with the tropical breeze and sun. Day 9
Depart San Jose, Costa Rica
Today you will be met and driven approximately 3 hours to San Jose international airport for your return flight home.

Holiday season supplements apply for Christmas, New Years, Presidents Day, and Easter travel dates. Green season specials and/or lower rates may apply for May to November travel dates.

All itineraries are land only and international airfare is quoted separately. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary depending on your international flight schedule. For example a late arrival will usually require a night near the airport in San Jose.
