Arrive San Jose, Costa Rica
Upon your morning or midday arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica transfer just 30 minutes to the Gran Hotel for overnight. The newly renovated Gran Hotel is located in the heart of Costa Rica's capital city, perfect for people watching and discovering markets, museums, and cuisine.
Pacuare River Overnight Rafting
This morning, you will be met and driven approximately 2 hours to Rio Lodge Operations Center. Enjoy breakfast and store luggage before your white water rafting river excursion.
Once at the river guides will load your gear into bags, prepare the equipment and give you complete safety and paddle instruction. The first day's Class III rapids welcome you to the Pacuare gorge's charm. Before you know it, you'll arrive at the Rios Lodge. Despite the lodge's remote location, guests enjoy comfortable rooms overlooking the Pacuare River with in-room electricity, delicious meals, and nearby waterfalls and trails for exploring! This award-winning lodge is a model of ecotourism built with sustainability in mind and totally off-grid thanks to hydroelectric power.
Transfer to Arenal / La Fortuna
After breakfast and loading the rafts, you'll prepare to paddle down the Pacuare gorge past waterfalls and natural waterslides. A combinations of class II-IV rapids will get your adrenaline pumping while also showcasing the gorgeous rainforest scenery. At the river take-out, transfer back to the Operation Center. Showers, changing rooms, cold and hot drinks and snacks will be available.
Transfer about 3 hours to Arenal Volcano and arrive at Hotel Arenal Manoa, the perfect place for relaxation. While close to many of the main attractions, Hotel Arenal Manoa is an intimate and private hotel with spacious gardens.
Pure Trek Canyoning Tour
This is one tour where you're guaranteed to get wet! A 30 minute drive in a 4x4 begins your adventure. Trek through the forest to discover some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country. Combination Lake Kayaking & Biking Arenal
Experience two adventure sports in an environment close to the forest and unique landscapes. Lake Arenal Boat Transfer to Monteverde Cloud Forest
Early this morning you will be picked up at you hotel for transfer to the boat launch at the Arenal Dam. Passengers will board a pontoon boat for a 45-minute ride to the dock at Rio Chiquito, a small town on the shore of Lake Arenal. Upon arrival passengers will ground transfer approximately 1 1/2 hours to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. This forest, literally in the clouds, is a must-see destination for wildlife observation and hiking. Arrive at Hotel El Establo, a boutique hotel neighboring the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. This charming hotel has two heated pools, a casual and fine dining restaurant, and a spa.
Monteverde Sky Tram, Trek, & Walk
Ascend to one of Monteverde's highest points at 5,700 feet above sea level on the TreeTram cableway. Then, experience a thrilling canopy adventure: fly across 7 ziplines for a total zipline ride spanning 1.9 miles. At the end, take a 1.7-mile hike on trails over 6 hanging bridges ranging from 157-774 feet above the forest floor. Overnight at Hotel El Establo.
Transfer to Tamarindo, Guanacaste
