Upon your morning or afternoon arrival in San Jose, meet your driver for a transfer by ground approximately 3 hours to the Arenal Volcano area.

Arenal Hanging Bridges is a network of trails and bridges on a private natural reserve with nearly 250 hectares of tropical vegetation. A professional naturalist guide will lead you through imposing hanging bridges overlooking the canopy. Your hike consists of 8 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges with an eye for both safety and beauty.

After your hike, go horseback riding with Paco's Horseback. On this new exclusive trail, explore the forest and trails located on the highest hills of the park - a setting with the best view of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal.

The Balsa River features a mix of class II and III rapids, perfect for both beginner paddlers and those seeking an exciting challenge. Like many rivers in Costa Rica’s Northern Zone, it begins with continuous Class III rapids interspersed with small pools, followed by gentler waters ideal for wildlife viewing. Nestled in the lowland rainforest, the Balsa River offers stunning natural scenery, where you may catch glimpses of tropical birds and other wildlife amidst the lush jungle surroundings. Take off on the Sky Tram and enjoy beautiful views of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal on this zipline adventure. The aerial tram ends at a wide observation platform at the highest point on the reserve. Here, enjoy a safety briefing before departing on the sky trek zipline adventure. The Arenal region is renowned for its rich wildlife, including two species of sloths: the two-toed and three-toed sloths. As you search for these fascinating creatures, your guide will take you through La Fortuna’s scenic wildlife hotspots. Along the way, you may spot toucans, blue jean dart frogs, and a variety of other animals like birds, iguanas, and monkeys.

After a break to enjoy a traditional Costa Rican snack, you’ll embark on a night walk. Explore La Fortuna’s only natural frog sanctuary at night, when vibrant frogs and other nocturnal animals are most active and easier to spot. The Arenal Oasis ponds are home to at least 28 species of frogs. The night walk then continues on flat trails through the lively rainforest, where your guide will highlight other nocturnal creatures. Venture through forested trails leading to some of Costa Rica's most breathtaking waterfalls. Uncover hidden gems deep within the canyon using specialized techniques and mountaineering gear. After a brief safety briefing, gear up and take a short trek to the top of the first waterfall, where your descent begins. You'll experience five rappels—four down waterfalls and one along a dry rock face—ranging from 50 to 20 meters in height, each guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping!
