DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1
Transfer to The Springs Resort & Spa, Arenal Volcano
Upon your morning or afternoon arrival in San Jose, meet your driver for a transfer by ground approximately 3 hours to the Arenal Volcano area.

Arrive at The Springs Resort & Spa for overnight. Enjoy incredible views of Arenal Volcano, a variety of hot and cold springs, four unique dining experiences, and a full-service spa. Don't miss the Club Rio Outdoor Center, a sprawling adventure center along Arenal River offering tubing, kayaking, horseback riding, a wildlife sanctuary, and more. Activities and wildlife santuary are available at an additional cost.
Day 2
Arenal Hanging Bridges Hike & Paco's Horseback Riding
Arenal Hanging Bridges is a network of trails and bridges on a private natural reserve with nearly 250 hectares of tropical vegetation. A professional naturalist guide will lead you through imposing hanging bridges overlooking the canopy. Your hike consists of 8 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges with an eye for both safety and beauty.

After your hike, go horseback riding with Paco's Horseback. On this new exclusive trail, explore the forest and trails located on the highest hills of the park - a setting with the best view of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal.
Day 3
Aerial Sky Tram & Trek Canopy Zipline
Take off on the Sky Tram and enjoy beautiful views of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal on this zipline adventure. The aerial tram ends at a wide observation platform at the highest point on the reserve. Here, enjoy a safety briefing before departing on the sky trek zipline adventure. Soar above the treetops on 8 cross-sectional cables totaling 4.5 miles in length. Overnight The Springs Resort & Spa.
Day 4
Pure Trek Rappel & Balsa Rafting Adventure
Enjoy a morning of exhilaration! Experience waterfall rappelling, a canyon wall, monkey drop (zip line and rappel), and rock climbing all in a beautiful rainforest canyon. Then, take a short hike out of the canyon, get back in the 4x4 trucks, and head back to the Pure Trek headquarters for a wonderful Costa Rican lunch. Following lunch, depart for Balsa River for two hours of white water rafting in the middle of the rainforest. Experience "Magnetic Rock" and "Dredges." Go for a swim in the river and stop for a cold drink and fresh tropical fruit. Overnight The Springs Resort & Spa.
Day 5
Free Day // Danaus Night Walk Tour
Free Morning: Relax in the hot springs or schedule activities at Club Rio. Add restaurant reservations, spa treatments, taxi services, and tours with the hotel concierge.

Observe Costa Rica's best nighttime wildlife, including animals and unique plants and flowers. Much of the rainforest biodiversity is comprised of nocturnal inhabitants with adaptations allowing them to survive without light, obtaining advantages for food gathering, aprotecting them from predators. Frogs with soothing sounds and brilliant colors, sloths, insects, and reptiles are frequently spotted in the rainforest at night. Overnight The Springs Resort.
Day 6
Rio Celeste Waterfall Hike (Full Day)
Depart for a 1 1/2 hour drive to Tenorio Volcano National Park. On arrival, begin the 5-mile challenging hike (approximately 4 hours) through the tropical rainforest. Arrive at the “Los Teñideros” of the Rio Celeste where two streams of water join together to form the heavenly blue color that gives the river its name. Continue your hike through the jungle looking for volcano furnace vents that extremely high-temperature gases. On your descent, enjoy views of the spectacular Rio Celeste Waterfall. At the end of your morning, enjoy a delicious lunch. Overnight The Springs Resort & Spa.
Day 7
Kayak on Penas Blancas River
Enjoy the sights and the sounds of the rainforest and experience its peacefulness as you quietly paddle the Peñas Blancas River. Monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, and numerous tropical birds await us! A bilingual guide will share with you educational and interesting explanations of the plants and animals we encounter on the float. You will truly appreciate the wonders of Peñas Blancas River and the surrounding rainforest as we travel down the river without a motor, allowing you to enjoy the true essence of the forest.
