Transfer to Hotel Amor Arenal, Arenal Volcano

Upon your morning or early afternoon arrival in San Jose, meet your driver for a private transfer by ground for about 2 hours to the Arenal Volcano area.

Arrive at Hotel Amor Arenal, an adults-friendly boutique rainforest retreat nestled at the base of the volcano. Stay in a private casita surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, complete with a thermal soaking pool and immersive views of Arenal’s natural beauty. Savor creative, locally inspired cuisine at El Rancho and Tico Grill at La Jaranita, the resort’s signature restaurants, or enjoy more casual fare at La Granea and La Jaranita Bar. After a day of exploration, unwind in the thermal pool area or indulge in a treatment at the full-service spa. PRIVATE Afternoon Arenal Sloth Tour

The lovable sloth has become one of the most recognizable symbols of Costa Rica’s incredible rainforest wildlife. The Arenal region is home to an abundance of wildlife, including both of the country’s sloth species: the two-toed sloth and the three-toed sloth. During your guided wildlife excursion, you’ll search for these fascinating creatures as well as colorful toucans and the vibrant blue jean dart frog. Your guide will take you to some of La Fortuna’s best wildlife viewing locations, where you may also spot monkeys, iguanas, and a variety of tropical birds. Overnight at Amor Arenal.

Caño Blanco Nature Sanctuary Tour by Boat (shared)

Today, travel approximately 1.5 hours to the Caño Blanco Nature Sanctuary, located in Costa Rica’s northern plains. Upon arrival, embark on a guided river safari aboard a small, quiet motorboat, allowing you to explore the sanctuary’s winding waterways with minimal disturbance to the surrounding wildlife. This unique wetland ecosystem serves as an important habitat and nesting ground for both resident and migratory bird species. As you navigate the channels, keep an eye out for sloths, bats, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys, aquatic birds, and a variety of reptiles. Arenal ‘Sky Tram & Sky Trek’ Canopy Zipline (shared)

Begin your adventure with a ride on the Sky Tram, ascending through the rainforest while taking in panoramic views of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. At the summit, you’ll arrive at a spacious observation platform, the highest point within the Arenal Reserve. After a brief safety orientation from your guides, prepare to soar through the canopy on the Sky Trek zipline course. This exhilarating experience offers a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest and surrounding landscapes as you glide above the treetops. Transfer to Rancho Pacifico Hotel, Uvita

This morning, transfer to the local airport in Arenal. Check in for a short flight to Quepos.

Upon arrival, meet your driver for transfer by ground, approximately 1 hour to Uvita on the South Pacific Coast. Arrive at Rancho Pacifico, an adults-only eco-luxury retreat perched high on a rainforest-covered mountainside with sweeping views of Marino Ballena National Park. Snorkeling Tour at Cano Island (Full day)

Caño Island is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine ecosystem. Surrounded by extensive coral reef formations, the reserve is home to an incredible diversity of marine life, including colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, moray eels, and white-tip reef sharks. During the excursion, you’ll enjoy approximately two hours of snorkeling at two different sites around the island, providing ample opportunity to observe the underwater world up close.

Following your snorkeling adventure, enjoy a picnic lunch on the pristine shores of Violines Island, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. If ocean conditions are unfavorable, lunch will instead be served back on Uvita Beach before returning to your hotel.

Please note: There are no restroom facilities on the boat or on Caño Island. Guests should also be prepared to board and disembark the boat directly from the beach in knee-deep water.

Spend the day at leisure, enjoying the many amenities and natural surroundings of Rancho Pacifico. Take advantage of the hotel’s complimentary daily shuttle to the entrance of Playa Uvita, one of the South Pacific coast’s most beautiful beaches. Relax by the ocean-view swimming pool, explore the property’s rainforest trails, unwind on the open-air yoga platform, or arrange optional excursions through the hotel for an additional cost. Morning Transfer to San Jose for Departure

Early this morning, you will transfer by ground about 4 hours* to the international airport in San Jose for your afternoon or evening flight home.  

*During peak travel periods, some transfers may take longer due to increased traffic congestion. We strongly recommend a late afternoon or evening departure flight. Flights with morning departures will require that you spend the night prior in the San Jose area. Please review your flight schedule prior to booking.
