DAILY ITINERARY
Day 1
Transfer to Hotel Arenal Manoa, Arenal Volcano
Upon your morning or afternoon arrival in San José, meet your driver for a three-hour ground transfer to the Arenal Volcano region. Although the volcano is currently dormant, the area offers plenty of exciting activities.
Check in at Hotel Arenal Manoa, an excellent base for exploring Arenal. Guests enjoy stunning views of the volcano, a large pool, and an on-site restaurant. The expansive gardens are ideal for strolls, and the on-site farm reflects the area’s rich agricultural heritage. The hotel concierge is available to assist with restaurant reservations, taxi services, and tour bookings.
Day 2
Pure Trek Canyoning
Venture through forest trails leading to some of Costa Rica’s most breathtaking waterfalls. With specialized techniques and standard mountaineering gear, uncover hidden wonders deep within the canyon. Start with a brief safety session, then gear up and take a short trek to the top of the first waterfall, where your descent begins. Experience five rappels—four along waterfalls and one on a dry rock face—ranging from 20 to 50 meters in height, each guaranteed to get your heart racing! Prepare for vertical waterfalls, dense jungle foliage, untouched wildlife, tranquility, adventure, and an adrenaline boost! Overnight at Hotel Arenal Manoa.
Day 3
Private Kayak Safari on the Penas Blancas River
Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the rainforest as you float along the serene Peñas Blancas River. After a brief paddling lesson from your guides, set off on this gentle river journey in search of monkeys, sloths, reptiles, and elusive tropical birds. Keep a lookout in the treetops, along the riverbanks, and in the water below to spot some of Costa Rica’s most fascinating wildlife. Overnight at Hotel Arenal Manoa.
Day 4
Sky Walk Bridges, Aerial Tram, & Zipline
Begin your adventure with the Sky Walk Bridges, a guided nature tour ideal for wildlife enthusiasts. As you explore the 2.25-mile trail, keep an eye out for diverse plants, animals, and vibrant bird species. Along the way, you’ll encounter three waterfalls, one with an impressive 30-meter drop.
Next, ride the Sky Tram cable car, taking in sweeping views of the volcano and Lake Arenal as you ascend to the forest canopy. The tram concludes at a spacious observation platform, perfect for photos with the volcano in the background. Then, gear up for the Sky Trek: an exhilarating zip-line course through the treetops of the Arenal Rainforest Reserve. Led by expert guides, you’ll glide along eight cables, reaching heights of up to 660 feet. Cap off your adventure with lunch, coffee, and pastries at the café overlooking the volcano. Overnight at Hotel Arenal Manoa.
Day 5
Transfer to Tulemar Resort, Manuel Antonio
This morning, ground transfer approximately 5 to 5.5 hours to the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific Coast.
Arrive for your overnight stay at Tulemar Resort, named the #1 Hotel in the World in 2022 by Tripadvisor travelers. This oceanfront resort offers a perfect blend of rainforest beauty and coastal access, with its expansive bungalows and casas spread across 33 acres of lush forest, offering stunning views of both the jungle and the sea. Explore nature trails leading to a secluded beach where you might spot monkeys, birds, and other local wildlife. The public beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park (closed on Tuesdays) are only a short taxi ride away.
Day 6
Sunset Cruise on Brisa Elegante
Take in the stunning views of Manuel Antonio aboard the Brisa Elegante, a 100’ gulet with two expansive teak decks and spacious lounge areas—the only vessel of its kind in Central America. As the ship sails along the Manuel Antonio National Park coastline, enjoy a welcome cocktail and fresh fruit (additional alcoholic drinks available for purchase at the bar). Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, manta rays, and other marine life. The ship will anchor in a calm bay where you can snorkel, kayak, or enjoy other water activities. A freshly prepared dinner will be served, perfectly timed with the Pacific sunset. Overnight at Tulemar Resort.
Day 7
Manuel Antonio Free Day
Head down to Tulemar’s beach, relax by the pool, or explore the area! Add restaurant reservations, taxi services, and tours with the help of the hotel concierge. Overnight Tulemar Resort.
Day 8
Depart San Jose, Costa Rica
