DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1
Transfer to Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belen, San Jose
Upon your arrival in San Jose, you'll meet your driver for a short 25-minute transfer to your hotel (transfer times may vary during busy travel periods). Your stay begins at the Costa Rica Marriott Hacienda Belen Hotel, a colonial-style hacienda located on a 30-acre coffee plantation. This luxurious hotel blends elegant architecture with the natural beauty of the Central Valley's mountains. Guests can enjoy exceptional service, a health club, jogging trails, three tennis courts, and a golf range while surrounded by beautiful tropical landscapes.
Day 2
Transfer to Aguila de Osa Inn, Osa Peninsula
Early this morning, transfer to the San José airport, where you'll catch a short flight to the remote Drake Bay on the Osa Peninsula. Upon arrival, a quick ground and boat transfer will take you to Aguila de Osa Inn for your overnight stay. Note: Shoes that can easily be removed or get wet are recommended, as you'll wade through knee-deep water to board the boat. This secluded rainforest lodge overlooks where the Aguijitas River meets Drake Bay. Spacious rooms with mesh windows invite tropical breezes, while complimentary kayaks and nearby hikes let you explore the rugged beaches and lush surroundings. Some rooms are located at higher elevations on the property and require stair-climbing.
Day 3
Guided Hike of Corcovado National Park
Start your day with a 45-minute to 1-hour boat ride to Corcovado National Park, protecting over 100,000 acres of pristine rainforest and home to endangered species. Hike through the untouched forest, spotting tropical birds, butterflies, monkeys, sloths, and more. After a snack at the ranger station, explore a trail leading to a secluded waterfall, where you might take a refreshing swim (weather-permitting). Return to the lodge for a delightful lunch. Overnight at Aguila de Osa Inn.
Day 4
Snorkeling Tour of Cano Island Biological Reserve
Embark on a 45-minute boat ride to the renowned Cano Island, a top spot for snorkeling and SCUBA diving. Explore vibrant marine life, with possible sightings of large fish, manta rays (Feb-June), and even humpback whales (Dec-Apr). After a morning of snorkeling in Costa Rica’s premier location, relax with a picnic lunch before returning to the lodge. Overnight at Aguila de Osa Inn. (Certified divers can opt for a full-day SCUBA diving tour for an additional cost.)
Day 5
Osa Peninsula Free Day
Hike along the scenic Drake Trail, which winds through the lodge property and reveals hidden beaches along the rugged coastline. On your journey, you may encounter monkeys, Scarlet macaws, and other local wildlife. For more adventure, complimentary kayaks are available to explore the lodge’s surrounding waterways. The lodge concierge can assist with arranging tours and additional activities. Overnight at Aguila de Osa Inn.
Day 6
Transfer to Amor Arenal, Arenal Volcano
This morning, transfer by ground to Drake Bay Airport and check in for your flight to San Jose. Upon arrival, your driver will take you on a 3-hour scenic drive to the Arenal Volcano region. Settle into Hotel Amor Arenal, a boutique resort nestled in the rainforest at the volcano's base. Each private casita features a thermal soaking pool and lush surroundings. Indulge in organic cuisine at El Rancho or La Jaranita, unwind in the thermal pool, or treat yourself to a full-service spa experience after a day of exploring.
Day 7
Rio Balsa White Water Rafting Class II-III
The Balsa River offers a mix of Class II and III rapids, catering to both beginners and seasoned paddlers seeking adventure. The first half features continuous Class III rapids interspersed with small pools, while the second half offers gentler rapids, ideal for spotting wildlife like tropical birds and mammals. Flowing through the rainforest lowlands, the river boasts stunning natural scenery. Enjoy the thrill of paddling amidst this biodiverse landscape before retreating to the comfort of Hotel Amor Arenal for a restful overnight stay.
Day 8
Arenal Sky Tram & Trek Canopy Zipline
Take a ride on the Sky Tram for breathtaking views of both the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal as you ascend toward your zipline adventure. The tram culminates at a spacious observation deck at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve, where you’ll receive a brief safety briefing from your guides. From there, embark on the Sky Trek, an exhilarating zipline experience that takes you soaring above the forest canopy. The trek features seven zip-lines spanning various lengths from 30 to 750 meters and heights ranging from 20 to 200 meters. As you glide through the treetops, you’ll be treated to stunning vistas of Lake Arenal and the imposing volcano in the distance. Spend the night at Hotel Amor Arenal. *Please note that height and weight restrictions apply.
Day 9
Arenal Free Day
Relax at the hotel or explore the Arenal area! Add restaurant reservations, taxi services, and tours with the help of your hotel concierge. Overnight Hotel Amor Arenal.
