Day 1
Arrive at Gran Hotel, San Jose
Upon arrival in San Jose, you will meet your driver for transfer about 30 – 45 minutes to your hotel (traffic varies).

Day 2
1-Day Pacuare River Whitewater Rafting Class III-IV
Start your day with a transfer to the operations center for a traditional Costa Rican breakfast. Afterward, drive to the Pacuare River put-in for a safety briefing and paddling instructions before embarking on a thrilling 14-mile river journey through lush rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and exciting rapids. After rafting, return to the operations center to freshen up, then enjoy a scenic 2.5-3 hour drive back to San José. Overnight at Gran Hotel.
Day 3
Transfer to Lomas del Volcan, Arenal Volcano
Today, meet your driver for transfer by ground for approximately 3 hours to the Arenal Volcano area. Although the volcano is currently in a resting phase, the region offers exciting opportunities.
Arrive at Lomas del Volcan for overnight. At the base of Arenal Volcano, Lomas del Volcan offers stunning views from its private bungalows. Guests have exclusive access to the Los Congos trail, along with a spacious pool and jacuzzi area. After a day of exploration, relax at the spa, enjoy a meal at Hojarasca Restaurant, or unwind at La Arboleda bar. The hotel concierge can assist with restaurant reservations, taxi services, and tour bookings.
Day 4
AM Bike Arenal / Night Walk with Dinner
This morning, enjoy the ‘1968’ Double Track Bike Tour, a thrilling ride through private trails starting at the 1968 National Park, located on the slopes of Arenal Volcano. The 12km trail features varied terrain, including short slopes, technical descents, and curves as you cycle through farmland, rainforest, rivers, and mud roads. Along the way, explore part of the lava flow from the 1968 eruption, and keep an eye out for Howler monkeys, toucans, coatis, and other wildlife.
This evening, enjoy a guided Night Walk at La Fortuna’s only natural frog sanctuary, where you’ll encounter vibrant frogs and other wildlife. The tour explores the Arenal Oasis ponds, home to over 28 frog species, and continues through the rainforest, where your guide will point out nocturnal creatures. The family-owned private reserve offers a perfect habitat with native plants and spring-fed ponds, providing an immersive rainforest experience. Dinner is included. Day 5
Pure Trek Waterfall Canyoning
Embark on a thrilling trek through the forest to explore some of Costa Rica’s most stunning waterfalls. With the help of mountaineering techniques, you’ll rappel down five waterfalls, ranging from 20 to 50 meters, and experience an adrenaline-pumping adventure. The lush jungle and its wildlife create a perfect backdrop for this exciting challenge. Afterward, unwind at Hotel Lomas del Volcan.
Day 6
Lake Crossing Arenal/Monteverde to Koora Monteverde
Transfer by land to the Arenal Dam boat launch and embark on a 45-minute boat ride across Lake Arenal to Rio Chiquito. From there, enjoy a 1.5-2 hour drive to the Monteverde Cloud Forest region. This high-elevation mountain location is perfect for nature hikes, birdwatching, and relaxation.

Day 7
Monteverde Aerial Tram, Trek Zipline, & Hanging Bridges with Lunch
Take a scenic ride aboard the TreeTram cableway, ascending to 5,700 feet above sea level to explore the cloud forest. Then, soar across 7 ziplines, covering 1.9 miles of thrilling canopy adventure. You’ll also experience the cloud forest from above on a self-guided walk along hanging bridges, spanning 1.7 miles and reaching heights of up to 164 feet. *Height and weight restrictions apply. Day 8
Private Local Horseback Riding Tour
Embark on a memorable horseback ride through the stunning private trails of an 80-hectare farm.
