DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1
Transfer to Mountain Paradise Boutique Hotel, Arenal Volcano
Today, you will transfer approximately 3 hours to the Arenal Volcano area. Although the volcano is currently in a resting phase, the region offers an abundance of exciting opportunities.

Arrive at Mountain Paradise Boutique Hotel for overnight. Mountain Paradise boasts breathtaking views of Arenal Volcano, nestled amidst lush natural flora and fauna. Guests can choose between two dining options on-site: Arenal Koita, offering traditional Costa Rican dishes, and Ave del Paraiso Restaurant. This cozy boutique hotel also features a spa that uses all-natural ingredients for a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The hotel concierge is available to assist with restaurant reservations, taxi services, and arranging tours.
Day 2
Sky Walk, Tram, & Trek Canopy Tour (Zipline + Suspension Bridges)
Your adventure starts with the Sky Walk Bridges, an ideal guided tour for nature enthusiasts. Along the 2.25-mile trail, you’ll encounter diverse flora, fauna, and three waterfalls, one dropping 30 meters. Next, board the Sky Tram cable car for breathtaking views of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal as you ascend to the forest canopy. The ride culminates at a spacious observation deck, perfect for capturing the majestic volcano. Finally, experience the Sky Trek zip lines, a thrilling adventure through the treetops of the Arenal Rainforest Reserve. Your expert guides ensure a safe yet exhilarating experience across eight cross-sectional cables, reaching heights of up to 660 feet. Day 3
Rio Balsa Whitewater Rafting (Class II-III)
The Balsa River offers an exciting mix of Class II and III rapids, catering to both novice and seasoned paddlers looking for adventure. The river's dynamic flow includes a first half filled with continuous Class III rapids interspersed with small pools, and a calmer second half ideal for observing wildlife. Nestled in the lowland rainforest, the Balsa River is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, with opportunities to spot tropical birds and other jungle-dwelling mammals. Day 4
Don Juan Coffee & Chocolate Tour
Start by exploring the rich history of coffee in Costa Rica, seeing how this crop has shaped local culture and traditions. Join in on the full process of coffee production, from seed to cup, for an immersive experience. Next, discover the cacao plant, an ideal complement to coffee. Savor the enticing aromas and taste the fresh cacao fruit before witnessing its transformation into delicious chocolate. Day 5
Transfer to Playa Hermosa Bosque del Mar, Guanacaste
Today, you’ll head to Playa Hermosa, a peaceful coastal town in northern Guanacaste, with a drive of about three hours. Check in at Playa Hermosa Bosque del Mar for an overnight stay. This charming boutique hotel is situated on one of Costa Rica’s most well-kept beaches, where calm waters meet lush, tropical dry forest. Guests of all ages can unwind here, enjoying a rustic "Hemingway-style" ambiance with a bar, restaurant, cozy pool surrounded by local greenery, hammocks in tropical gardens, and laundry service. Day 6
Sunset Catamaran Sailing
Set sail from Playa del Coco and journey along Costa Rica’s scenic Gold Coast, passing Guanacaste’s exotic bays, white-sand beaches, and lush tropical jungles. Relax with a tropical drink as you take in breathtaking coastal views and spot captivating wildlife, including dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish, and sometimes even a breaching whale. The catamaran will anchor in a peaceful bay, allowing you to swim and snorkel in the Pacific’s crystal-clear waters while the crew prepares a light meal. Day 8

Add restaurant reservations, taxi services, and tours with the help of the hotel concierge. Overnight Playa Hermosa – Bosque del Mar.
Day 9
Depart San Jose, Costa Rica
This morning you will transfer by ground approximately 3 hours to the international airport in San Jose for your afternoon or evening departure.

Pricing is valid through the date listed for each itinerary (all pricing is subject to change until booked and confirmed). Holiday season supplements apply for Christmas, New Years, Presidents Day, and Easter travel dates. Green season specials and/or lower rates may apply for May to November travel dates.

All itineraries are land only and international airfare is quoted separately. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary depending on your international flight schedule. For example a late arrival will usually require a night near the airport in San Jose.
