DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1
Arrive Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation & Inn, Heredia
Upon arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica you will be met and driven approximately 30 minutes to Heredia situated in the hills overlooking the Central Valley. Arrive at Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation & Inn for overnight. Set amid hundreds of fruit tress and tropical flora, this enchanting inn is a hidden treasure. Finca Rosa Blanca is renowned for its inventive gourmet cuisine prepared with ingredients right from the orchard and organic garden.
Day 2
Transfer to Hotel Aguas Claras, Caribbean Coast
Today you will be met and driven approximately 4 hours to Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean Coast.

Arrive at Hotel Aguas Claras, a recently renovated boutique hotel with a collection of Victorian-style houses and suites set just outside the lively beach village of Puerto Viejo. Each house is a piece of art, incorporating Caribbean culture and local handicrafts.
Day 3
Caribbean Coast Free Day
Relax at the pool, enjoy the beach at the hotel, or explore the Southern Caribbean beaches by foot, bike, or taxi. Overnight Hotel Aguas Claras.
Day 4
Cahuita Snorkeling & Rainforest Hike
Cahuita National Park has the largest system of coral reefs in Costa Rica, including six species of coral and a range of colorful tropical fish and occasionally the harmless reef shark or stingray. The beach has a horseshoe shape with the entrance of the park at one end and the beautiful Punta Cahuita at the other end. Your adventure begins with a scenic 20-minute boat ride for two snorkel sessions. After snorkeling, boat to the beach to enjoy fruit and snacks followed by a one-hour guided hike in the coastal forest. Monkeys, sloths, birds, poison dart frogs, iguanas, and other wildlife encounters are common. Overnight Hotel Aguas Claras.

Day 6
Raft to Pacuare Lodge: Class III-IV Rafting
Depart for transfer by ground (with a stop for breakfast) to the river put-in point on the Pacuare River. Your river guides will help load your gear. Then, you'll paddle down the Pacuare gorge, rafting into the heart of the rainforest.

Arrive at the Pacuare Lodge. Spend the afternoon relaxing to the sound of the river, hiking the trails, or soaking in waterfalls. In its remote setting, the Pacuare Lodge is tucked away deep in the primitive rainforest - setting a new setting for nature experiences in Costa Rica!
Day 7
Pacuare Lodge Free Day
Two on-site guided tours are included in your stay. Discuss the schedule of activities with the concierge when you arrive. Options include hiking, canyoning, zipline, birdwatching, hiking to a nearby Indigenous community, rural experiences, and the lodge's sustainability tour. Unwind at the riverside spa or relax with a good book at the main lodge. Add-ons like candlelight dinners are available at an additional cost. Overnight Pacuare Lodge.
Day 8
Raft and Ground transfer to Amor Arenal, Arenal Volcano
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before you raft out. Paddle to the outbound stretch of the Pacuare past gushing waterfalls and gorgeous scenery. A picnic lunch will be served midway through the trip. Then, embark on the grand finale! At the river takeout, guests can change clothes and collect excess luggage.

Next, you will meet your driver for a private ground transfer for approximately 2 1/2 hours to Amora Arenal in the Arenal Volcano / La Fortuna region. This upscale rainforest lodge is nestled at the foothills of Arenal Volcano. Revel in volcanic hot springs, organic food, and a full-service spa. Each casita features a private thermal soaking pool and is surrounded by lush vegetation.
Day 9
Aerial Tram & Trek Zipline Tour
Today, board the Aerial Sky Tram for a trip up through the forest canopy. Arrive at a wide observation platform at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve. Enjoy view of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal before setting off on your zipline adventure. The Sky Trek is the zipline portion of the tour which consists of 8 cross-sectional cables (4.5 miles total) and a maximum height of 660 feet. Overnight Amor Arenal.
Day 10
Coffee & Chocolate Tour
This morning, enjoy an organic coffee tour at a family-owned farm. Discover the process of coffee production, its history, and why it is still so important for the Costa Rican economy. At the end of the tour, enjoy fresh traditional organic Costa Rican coffee and chocolate bars accompanied by a traditional snack. Overnight Amor Arenal.
Day 11
Arenal Free Day
Enjoy your last day in Costa Rica as you please. Book additional tours, a spa treatment, or relax by the pool. Overnight Amor Arenal.
Day 12
Depart San Jose, Costa Rica
This morning you will transfer by ground approximately 3 hours to the San Jose international airport for your afternoon or evening flight home.

All itineraries are land only and international airfare is quoted separately. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary depending on your international flight schedule. For example a late arrival will usually require a night near the airport in San Jose.
