Upon arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica you will be met and driven approximately 30 minutes to Heredia situated in the hills overlooking the Central Valley. Cahuita National Park has the largest system of coral reefs in Costa Rica, including six species of coral and a range of colorful tropical fish and occasionally the harmless reef shark or stingray. The beach has a horseshoe shape with the entrance of the park at one end and the beautiful Punta Cahuita at the other end. Your adventure begins with a scenic 20-minute boat ride for two snorkel sessions. Depart for transfer by ground (with a stop for breakfast) to the river put-in point on the Pacuare River. Your river guides will help load your gear. Then, you'll paddle down the Pacuare gorge, rafting into the heart of the rainforest.
