Our 8-night Classic Costa Rica Standard vacation package is the perfect introduction to Costa Rica! With the variety of activities in the country, you’ll get the chance to try what you’d like! 3 nights in Arenal gives you time for the hanging bridges, hot springs, a river float, and more! After your jungle and urban adventures, head southwest to explore the eerie beauty of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Your last few days are all about Manuel Antonio park, tiny and yet packed with wildlife. Overnight at Hotel Costa Verde, set in the jungle just above the ocean, because what could be better than falling asleep to waves breaking?


Day 1
Arrive Arenal, Costa Rica
Upon your morning or midday arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica transfer approximately 3 hours to the Arenal Volcano. Arrive at Hotel Arenal Manoa, an ideal place for rest and relaxation. The hotel is close to many of the main attractions in the area yet maintains a silent tranquility. Visitors can take advantage of the spacious gardens for walking and meditation as well as see the operations of a Costa Rican farm.
Day 2
Hanging Bridges Hike & Tabacon Hot Springs
Begin the day at the Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, a private reserve of animals, birds, and flora with a series of eight fixed and six hanging suspension bridges. A professional naturalist guide will point out the unique attributes of the ecosystem. Enjoy views of Arenal Volcano above the hanging bridges and don't miss the waterfall extension trail at the end of the hike! Next, visit the all natural Tabacon thermal springs for a relaxing soak. Explore the gardens and the varying thermal pools before returning to Hotel Arenal Manoa for overnight.
Day 3
Pure Nature Safari Float.
Enjoy the sounds and sights of the Penas Blancas River on a safari float expedition! Your guide will point out wildlife like sloths, crocodiles, monkeys, and tropical birds. Enjoy the peacefulness of the river as you paddle along without a motor. Overnight Hotel Arenal Manoa.
Day 4
Arenal/Monteverde Boat Transfer
Early this morning you will be picked up for a transfer to the boat launch at the Arenal Dam. Passengers will board a comfortable pontoon boat for a 45-minute ride to the dock on the shore of Lake Arenal. Upon arrival, passengers will transfer approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. During the rainy season, this transfer may take longer. This high-elevation forest is great for hiking and wildlife observation – especially bird watching.

Arrive at Hotel El Establo, a boutique hotel neighboring Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, for overnight. The property features two heated pools, spa, and both a casual and fine dining restaurant.
Day 5
AM Monteverde Cloud Forest Hike; PM Don Juan Coffee Tour
Transfer to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve on the continental divide for a trek through the misty forest’s dense vegetation and majestic trees. You will see giant prehistoric tree ferns and many of the species of birds that call Monteverde home. After the hike, you will be transferred back to your hotel for overnight. The remainder of the day is free.

This afternoon, take the Don Juan coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane tour. Discover how coffee cherries are selected, how the pulp is extracted, and the coffee is dried out. Next, uncover the history of the cocoa pod! Make some chocolate for yourself and give it a taste. Then, watch and learn the traditional Costa Rican method for extracting sugar cane juice. Give it a try! It's delicious. Finally, head to the restaurant for a cup of typical Costa Rican coffee and browse the souvenir shop for friends back home! Overnight Hotel El Establo.
Day 6
Transfer to Manuel Antonio / Quepos
Today transfer to Quepos / Manuel Antonio on the Central Pacific coast. Arrive at Hotel Costa Verde for overnight. This hotel, set in the jungle above the ocean, is one of the closest hotels to Manuel Antonio National Park, allowing easy access to the nearby beaches and the national park where monkeys abound and are often very easily observed. The slogan for Costa Verde is “still more monkeys than people."
Day 7
Manuel Antonio National Park Hike
Costa Rica’s favorite national park is tiny Manuel Antonio, featuring three of the country’s most beautiful white sand beaches bordered by dense rainforest and trails abundant in wildlife. Follow a professional naturalist guide for a walk through the park. The animal life is diverse, with some 109 known species of mammals. Expect to spot two or three species of monkeys, sloth, white-nosed coatimundis, agoutis, colorful butterflies, iguanas and various birds. Bring a bathing suit and towel to enjoy the beaches after the tour. Overnight Hotel Costa Verde.
Day 8
Sunset Catamaran Cruise
This afternoon, set sail on a sunset catamaran cruise overlooking the Manuel Antonio shoreline and the Pacific Ocean. Look for dolphins, humpback whales and more from the deck of the catamaran. Indulge in a multitude of snacks and drinks while taking in the colorful colors of a Costa Rican sunset. Overnight Hotel Costa Verde.
Day 9
Depart San Jose, Costa Rica
This afternoon, transfer about 3 hours to the San Jose International Airport for your afternoon departure.
