OVERVIEW

Our 7-night Family Vacation Classic includes two top Costa Rica family destinations. Begin at Arenal Volcano, the adventure capital of Costa Rica, where majestic views and hot springs keep everyone entertained. Hike over hanging bridges beneath the hulking Arenal Volcano and look for wildlife. Then visit Manuel Antonio National Park and play on warm, white sand beaches on the lush rainforest coastline.

DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1
Transfer to Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica
Upon your morning or midday arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica transfer by ground approximately 3 hours to the Arenal Volcano. Dominating the landscape, the Arenal Volcano is currently in a resting phase. Arrive at Tabacón Grand Spa & Thermal Resort for overnight. Awarded membership to The Leading Hotels of the World, Tabacon features mineral pools and hot springs that flow through stunning tropical gardens.
Day 2
Arenal Hanging Bridges Hike
This morning, you will be picked up for a hike through Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. Walk through a series of trails and hanging bridges. Enjoy the flora and fauna of the tropical forest beneath Arenal Volcano. If you're feeling particularly active, venture on to the hidden waterfall trail to extend your park experience. Overnight Tabacon Thermal Resort.
Day 3
Safari Float on the Penas Blancas River
Drift downstream on the serene Peñas Blancas River, immersed in the vibrant wildlife and beauty of the surrounding rainforest. With your naturalist guide doing the rowing, you can fully relax and focus on spotting monkeys, sloths, reptiles, and other fascinating species. Capture pictures of iguanas basking on branches or use binoculars to get a closer look at tropical birds. After your river journey, enjoy a visit to "The Hidalgo Family Home" for an authentic Costa Rican cultural experience and a traditional snack. Overnight at Tabacón Thermal Resort.
Day 4
Transfer to Manuel Antonio Beaches
This morning you will transfer approximately 5 hours to the Quepos / Manuel Antonio area on the Central Pacific Coast where the rainforest cascades into the ocean. En Route, look for white-faced monkeys or sloths perched in the canopy. Visit the three pristine beaches inside the park or the expansive public beach outside the park entrance.

Arrive at Los Altos Resort outside Manuel Antonio National Park for overnight. Public beaches and the National Park are just minutes away, and Los Altos' spacious suites provide the comforts of home - with a better view!
Day 5
Manuel Antonio National Park Hike
This morning, take a walk through one of Costa Rica's favorite national parks with a naturalist guide. Manuel Antonio National Park contains three of the most beautiful white sand beaches in Costa Rica, dense rainforest, 109 known mammal species, and 184 bird species. Overnight Los Altos Resort.
Day 6
Manuel Antonio Free Day
Head to the beach! Tulemar Resort is one of the few developments in the region with direct beach access. Take the resort shuttle down to the little secluded shoreline where you can rent kayaks and beach chairs for a relaxing beach day. And don't forget to catch the sunset, it's a standout! Overnight Los Altos Resort.
Day 7
Manuel Antonio Free Day

Day 8
Depart San Jose, Costa Rica
Today you will be met and transferred approximately 3 hours by ground to the San Jose International Airport for your return flight home.

All itineraries are land only and international airfare is quoted separately. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary depending on your international flight schedule. For example a late arrival will usually require a night near the airport in San Jose.
