DAILY ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrive Grano Hotel, San Jose
Upon arrival in San Jose, meet your driver for a 30-minute transfer to your hotel.
Check in at the Gran Hotel Costa Rica, located in the heart of the city on the pedestrian boulevard, Avenida Central. The hotel offers views of the National Theatre and is just steps away from cafés, shops, museums, and other popular attractions. Combining colonial charm with modern amenities, the elegant guest rooms provide a stylish retreat, while the hotel’s signature restaurant serves a blend of international dishes and local flavors.
Day 2
Raft to Pacuare Lodge, Pacuare River: Class III-IV Rafting
You'll depart San José early in the morning and stop for breakfast before arriving at the Pacuare River put-in. After a safety briefing, your professional guide will lead on you a whitewater adventure into the heart of the rainforest. Before you know it, you'll arrive at the Pacuare Jungle Lodge. Cross your private suspension bridge and lounge in your own personal Jacuzzi. The unparalleled Honeymoon Suite is completely shrouded by the surrounding rainforest creating an idyllic intimate hideaway for newlyweds.
Day 3
Pacuare River Free Day
Two on-site guided tours are included in your stay. Talk with the concierge when you arrive for the daily activity schedule. Hiking, canyoning, ziplining, birdwatching, hiking to a local indigenous community, or a sustainability tour are often on the agenda. Overnight Pacuare Lodge.
Day 4
Raft & Ground Transfer to El Silencio Lodge, Bajos del Toro Cloud Forest
After a hearty breakfast and loading the rafts, you'll prepare to paddle down the Pacuare. Your morning will be adrenaline-packed, running Class III rapids. You will then be picked up and transferred to El Silencio Lodge and Spa for overnight, a charming little sanctuary in the cloud forest. This boutique eco lodge is surrounded by private hiking trails and hidden waterfalls and proudly boasts the Relais & Chateaux badge of honor for its delectable cuisine.
Day 5
Bajos del Toro Waterfall Hike
Today, hike to Bajos del Toro Waterfall. A gorgeous 400-foot waterfall drops into a multi-colored canyon with surrounding shades of green moss, red clay, and dense vegetation. A winding trail will bring you to the base of the waterfall up close to the roaring mist. This natural masterpiece is located only 15 minutes from El Silencio Lodge. Please note that climbing back up from the base of the waterfall is approximately 400 to steps.
Day 6
Transfer to Arenas del Mar Beach & Nature Resort, Manuel Antonio
This morning transfer by ground approximately 3 hours to Arenal del Mar Beach & Nature Resort, located next to Manuel Antonio National Park, for overnight. This upscale boutique hotel features two pools, inventive gourmet dining, and rainforest encounters at one of the country's only truly beachfront hotels.
Day 7
Manuel Antonio National Park Hike
Discover the coastal rainforest of Manuel Antonio National Park. Your professional naturalist guide will point out the rich flora and fauna of the park. Take a break and enjoy a refreshing swim on Playa Espadilla and Playa Manuel Antonio. Overnight Arenas del Mar Beach & Nature Resort.

Depart San Jose, Costa Rica
This morning you will be met and driven approximately 3 hours to the San Jose international airport for your return flight home.
Pricing is valid through the date listed for each itinerary (all pricing is subject to change until booked and confirmed). Holiday season supplements apply for Christmas, New Years, Presidents Day, and Easter travel dates. Green season specials and/or lower rates may apply for May to November travel dates.
All itineraries are land only and international airfare is quoted separately. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary depending on your international flight schedule. For example a late arrival will usually require a night near the airport in San Jose.
