Upon your morning or afternoon arrival into San Jose, you’ll meet your driver for private transfer by ground approximately 3 hours to the Arenal Volcano area. Although the volcano is currently in a resting phase, the region offers exciting opportunities.

This morning, enjoy the sights and the sounds of the rainforest as you quietly paddle the Peñas Blancas River. Keep an eye out for monkeys, sloths, caimans, and tropical birds as your naturalist guide steers you down the river’s gentle waters and explains the local ecology of the secondary and primary rainforest.

PRIVATE ‘Slothies & Birds’ Tour:

This afternoon, embark on a short hike through the secondary forest and try to find one of Costa Rica’s most iconic creates, the sloth! It is likely that you will spot these little mammals, even if they try to blend in with the flora. Aerial Sky Tram & Sky Trek Canopy Zipline:

After you arrive at the Sky Adventures park, you’ll be fitted for your gear and board the Sky Tram, which offers great views of the volcano on the way up to your zipline adventure.  The Sky tram ends at a wide observation platform at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve. Here you will receive a quick safety briefing from your guides before you head off into the canopy on the Sky Trek – this is the zip-line portion of your adventure above the treetops, which consists of 7 zip-lines located throughout the forest. As you fly through the canopy, admire the beauty of Lake Arenal and the impressive volcano in the background. Zip across 7 transverse cables with lengths ranging from 30 – 750 meters long and 20 – 200 meters high. Transfer to Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort (Tamarindo)

Today, meet your driver for transfer approximately 3 ½ hours to Tamarindo on the Northern Pacific Coast.

The only hotel located directly on the white sands of Tamarindo beach, Diria is also surrounded by exotic and beautifully maintained tropical gardens. Afternoon Catamaran Sailing Tour

This afternoon tour departs in the afternoon from Tamarindo*. You’ll cruise along the northern Pacific coast while passing some of Guanacaste’s exotic bays, beaches, and tropical inlets. With a cold tropical drink in hand, enjoy amazing views and keep an eye out for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish, and the occasional breaching whale (when in season). The catamaran will drop anchor in a tranquil bay so you can swim and snorkel in the blue Pacific, while the crew prepares a light meal (depending on weather conditions).
