El Remanso Rainforest Lodge is located about 40 minutes from Puerto Jimenez on the remote Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica within one of the world’s most pristine rainforest.

Activities

Explore the flora and fauna of the region along wildlife trails. Brightly colored birds, exotic birds, and playful monkeys can be found on the trails surrounding El Remanso Lodge. Secluded pools, waterfalls, lagoons, tidepools, and hidden valleys make up the diverse ready-to-discover landscape. Waterfall rappelling, guided hikes, birding, a canopy tour, dolphin watching, surfing, kayaking, and horseback riding can all be arranged from the lodge.

Sustainable Tourism

El Remanso Lodge prides itself on its forward-minded approach to sustainable tourism. Since its start in 1999, El Remanso was one of the first properties in Costa Rica with electricity run exclusively by its own micro-hydro system. Additionally, El Remanso recycles waste and runs a composting system, treats wastewaters, and provides work for over 30 employees living in the local community.

Rooms

El Remanso features seven different accommodation options: Classic Bungalows, La Guinda, Villa La Vainilla, Deluxe Villas with Plunge Pool, Superior Rooms, Standard Rooms, and Casa Osa.

Classic Bungalows

There are three private, spacious one-bedrooms bungalows for 2-4 guests. The Classic Bungalow features ocean and rainforest canyon views and a king-size bed with the ability to add 1-3 extra single beds. Enjoy views of the surrounding tropical gardens from the outdoor terrace’s sun deck from comfortable lounge chairs. Classic Bungalows also feature outdoor and indoor showers, 50-inch ceiling fan, hammock, and a safe.

Deluxe Double Villa with Plunge Pool

This is treetop luxury redefined: 1,200 square feet of natural stone and teak, soaring ceilings, and starlit showers. Relax on the expansive hardwood deck or in your private plunge pool, offering unparalleled views of brilliant sunsets and the vibrant sights and sounds of a tropical lowland rainforest. A tranquil retreat where nature meets sophistication.

Deluxe Villa with Plunge Pool

There are three Deluxe Villas with plunge pools and views of the rainforest and ocean. The deluxe villa features one large bedroom, one full bathroom, and an outdoor shower. Additionally, it includes one king bed with 300 thread count sheets, 1-2 optional single beds, a 500 square foot deck with lounge chairs, 60 square foot plunge pool overlooking the forest, 60-inch ceiling fans, separate walk-in closet, and a safe. The Deluxe Villa with Plunge Pool comfortably sleeps two to four guests.

Superior Rooms

The Superior Rooms are located on the upper level of the two-story Casa Poniente. The house faces West toward breathtaking sunset views over the Pacific Ocean. Superior Rooms feature an ocean view, king bed with 300 count linens, 1-3 single beds that can easily added, indoor and outdoor showers with surrounding forest views, and an outdoor terrace deck, ceiling fan, hammock, and safe.

Poniente Rooms

The Poniente Rooms at El Remanso Lodge are nestled near the hotel’s pool and lush tropical gardens, offering a serene retreat with private gardens and stone-walled outdoor showers. These recently renovated rooms feature spacious bathrooms, high-end amenities, and terraces with natural plant screens for privacy.
