Day 1
Arrive in Liberia, transfer to Hideaway Rio Celeste (Tenorio)
Upon arrival in Liberia, Costa Rica, you transfer by ground for approximately 2 hours to the remote Tenorio region.
Arrive at Hideaway Rio Celeste. This charming eco-lodge is located next to Tenorio Volcano National Park and the stunning Río Celeste, renowned as one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and unique rivers. Guests can enjoy the serene ambiance of the forest in private casitas, providing a peaceful retreat after a day filled with hiking and exploration.
Day 2
AM: Private Tenorio National Park & Rio Celeste Hike / PM: Private Chocolate Farm Tour
This morning, explore the reasons why Río Celeste and Tenorio National Park are celebrated destinations for biodiversity in Costa Rica. Just a short 2-minute drive from Hideaway Río Celeste, Tenorio National Park features exceptional hiking trails that meander through rainforest, cloud forest, and lowland tropical forest ecosystems. As you trek, be on the lookout (and listen for) howler monkeys, toucans, and other remarkable bird species, along with sloths and butterflies. Your journey will ultimately lead you to the mesmerizing aquamarine waters of Río Celeste, revealing the beauty that motivated your visit.
Then in the afternoon, make your way to the slopes of Tenorio Volcano, where a locally-owned, family-operated farm celebrates a love for all things chocolate. During this immersive tour, you’ll explore the art of organic cacao cultivation and discover the intricate process of turning cacao beans into artisanal chocolate. As you stroll through the cacao plantations, coconut groves, and various tropical fruit trees, you’ll have the opportunity to sample delightful local treats along the way. Day 3
Private Chocolate Farm Tour
Travel to the foothills of Tenorio Volcano, where a locally owned, family-run farm celebrates the art of chocolate. During this immersive experience, discover how organic cacao is cultivated and transformed—from bean to rich, handcrafted chocolate. Stroll through lush plantations of cacao, coconut, and tropical fruit trees, sampling fresh flavors straight from the source. Overnight at Hideaway Rio Celeste.
Day 4
Transfer to The Four Seasons Papagayo (Papagayo Peninsula)
This morning, you will transfer by ground approximately 2 – 2.5 hours to the Four Seasons Papagayo Resort for overnight. Overlooking two bodies of water, The Four Season’s sprawling scenery and lavish amenities make for an awe-inspiring vacation grand finale.
Day 5
Papagayo Free Day
Play on the exclusive Arnold Palmer 18-hole golf course or schedule some zen at a relaxing morning yoga class. Lounge seaside at the adults-only beach club or visit the kids club for family-focused fun and adventure. Overnight Four Seasons Papagayo Resort.
Day 6
Papagayo Free Day

Depart Liberia, Costa Rica
This morning, transfer by ground approximately 40 minutes – 1 hour to the international airport in Liberia for departure.
Pricing is valid through the date listed for each itinerary (all pricing is subject to change until booked and confirmed). Holiday season supplements apply for Christmas, New Year’s, Presidents Day, and Easter travel dates. Green season specials and/or lower rates may apply for May to November travel dates.
All itineraries are land only and international airfare is quoted separately. Itinerary adjustments may be necessary depending on your international flight schedule. For example, a late arrival will usually require a night near the airport in San Jose.
