Club Rio Sanctuary Tour & Night Walk

This morning, enjoy the Club Rio Wildlife Sanctuary Tour: For over 15 years, the Wildlife Sanctuary at Club Rio has been supporting the Costa Rican Environmental Ministry’s mission to care for rescued wildlife injured or confiscated from people holding them illegally. The organization cares for the animals only when the government’s representatives consider that animal to be unable to survive on its own in the wild. It is the sanctuary’s mission to do everything possible to provide the closest environment to their natural habitats to promote instinctual behaviors. Our trained guides and extensive educational signage will help you understand the delicate balance between the human and natural worlds in Costa Rica, and educate you about these magnificent creatures and the challenges they face as their natural habitats are invaded or destroyed.

Later this evening, experience the Night Walk at Club Rio: The rainforest is beautiful yet sleepy during the day, but as the sun sets this dynamic ecosystem literally explodes with life and energy. It takes instruction and practice to identify and locate the various creatures creating this orchestral performance, and your guide will help you find dozens of species of insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals in just a short walk through the forest. ‘Pure Trek’ Canyoning & Waterfall Rappel

After a brief safety briefing, gear up and take a short trek to the top of the first waterfall, where your descent begins.
