Isla Chiquita Glamping Hotel

Isla Chiquita Glamping Resort is the only glamping experience in Costa Rica. This one of a kind resort is located in the Gulf of Nicoya off of the Nicoya Peninsula.

Your adventure will begin in the small town of Paquera where you will travel to Chiquita Island by boat. The resort offers the unique experience of camping on an island in a luxurious setting!

Activities

Activities abound on the island with options like hiking, kayaking, birdwatching, and more. Many guided tours are available from the property as well. Book a tour through a local plantation known for its indigenous plantains and sweet guava. Discover the wildlife of the Curu Bio Reserve. Board the resort boat and go beach hopping! Take a day trip to the surrounding islands or go fishing. One very unique tour offered by the resort is the Bioluminescence Adventure in which you can see the ocean light up at night as a result of light-emitting plankton – creating a starry sky effect. Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are also included in your stay.

Dining & Amenities

The property also features a seaside restaurant called Tia Nora with delicious seafood and options for all tastes, and Harry’s Bar & Restaurant which offers creative bites and playful cocktails. Tia Nora Restaurant serves up an extensive breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drink menu with a variety of Costa Rican, American, and vegetarian options. Harry’s Bar & Restaurant is a breezy cocktail bar where you can kick back, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty where the forest and ocean meet.

Please note that the resort does not have a A/C or a swimming pool and instead relies on the ocean and island breeze to cool off!

Accommodations

There are 19 total glamping tents at Isla Chiquita, with varied bedding and air conditioning options. The tents are set in a tiered layout, creating a sense of privacy and seclusion no matter which tent you’re in. Each unit features an en-suite bathroom, ceiling fans, and a private deck. There are 9 Tent Suites, 8 Premium Ocean View Tents, the Family Tent Suite, and the Master Sunset Suite.

Tent Suites

The Tent Suites are great for couples or families, offering options with 1 king bed or 2 double beds and private decks to lounge on. 2 Tent Suites have AC, while the other 7 rely on ceiling fans and the island breeze to keep cool.

Premium Ocean View Tents

The name says it all: the real draw of these tents is the ocean view. Each tent has 1 king bed, 6 with AC and 2 without. However, all Premium Ocean View Tents have a private plunge pool and a mini-bar.

Family Tent Suite

Capable of accommodating up to 6 people, the Family Tent Suite consists of 2 tent units combined. The sprawling private deck provides plenty of space to lounge and enjoy the ocean views and connects the tents. The Family Tent has AC, a private plunge pool, and spectacular views.

Master Sunset Suite

Offering a spacious terrace, sweeping 360° views, and a private plunge pool, the Master Sunset Suite combines rustic sensibility and luxury. The large bedroom offers a king bed and 2 day beds, as well as a large en-suite bathroom. The Master Tent Suite relies on ceiling fans and the breezy climate to keep cool.
