At Costa Rica Experts, we’re continuing to educate ourselves on how to make the web more accessible for people with disabilities. We understand that it’s necessary to make the internet an accessible space for people to connect with each other and to find information with ease. We stand by the idea that websites have to be accessible in order to be successful. We continue to measure our site by performing manual audits and by using accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 and accessibility testing tools recommended by W3.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. We are partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Approach to Conformance

Costa Rica Experts is actively pursuing full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. We have taken the following steps to work towards a more inclusive and conformant experience:

1. Incorporated accessibility guidelines into our recent site re-design
2. Incorporated the use of automated accessibility testing tools such as Google Lighthouse and SiteImprove, as well as manual testing with Mac VoiceOver, into the development process for new features
3. Ongoing assessment of our new and existing on-page content for accessibility best practices, including considerations for cognitive disabilities
4. Continued training and education around digital accessibility, conforming to standards for all new features and functionality, and updating our existing infrastructure over time.

Changes to our conformance status and any progress made towards conformance will be documented and communicated through regular updates to this accessibility statement.
