"My daughter and her friends took their trip this past week. I wanted to say thanks for your help, the quality of the trip you put together and especially the arrangements and the price. We sat in the balcony and watched monkeys jump from one tree to another or birds flew by. Every pick up was on time and the things were well organized. We have never had a room so nice and comfortable. And the view of the Arenal Volcano out our back door and porch was exactly what we were hoping for. The food at resort was unbelievably good. It was the only place we ate while there. The staff at resort was excellent and accommodating. Our trip to the hanging bridges was wonderful. Our private guide, Diego, was also very passionate about the rain forest and environment. It rained the whole time and that seemed to give the experience an extra dimension of wonder. The one other trip we took was the Sky Train Zip lines. The guides were just great and very good at what they do. It is a little intimidating at first and that first long run and stop at the end sure gets your attention. Cindy wasn't very comfortable at first, but by the time we finished, she indicate she would it again! The rest of the time we relaxed in our room, getting much deserved rest. I enjoyed sitting on the porch, looking at the volcano (which was visible half the time) and enjoying an occasional cigar. We also enjoyed the pool, wine bar and got several massages, which were excellent! I don't want to forget the two gentlemen who took us and returned us to the airport. Both were extremely helpful and a pleasure to talk to. Our first driver, Jorge, found a store where we could buy a few bottles of wine for our stay I could go on and on, but we just want to thank you again for everything you did and your recommendations. Probably the best service in the restaurant of any resort we stayed at. We could have easily spent a week at this one spot. It was tranquil and the adjoining rooms worked perfectly when our son joined us. Loved the sustainable philosophy. Got me really interested in the topic. Breakfast included was terrific. Villa Blanca - again, we could have stayed a week. Unbelievable resort if you're up for living in the clouds, and we were. Great hikes, day and night. Got a foot away from a group of feeding hummingbirds. I even milked a cow! They also walked the talk on sustainability, organic gardening, etc. Interesting science going on in the back lot. Service was outstanding. Grano de Oro - also a fabulous hotel. The restaurant was reasonably priced considering its high quality. We arrived at Arenal Nayara and were completely blown away by the hotel. It was one of the nicest hotels we'd ever stayed at...it possibly beats out our honeymoon suite on mykanos!! Our room had indoor and outdoor showers, a private jacuzzi on our balcony, and an amazing view of the volcano. The day of the wedding, she came by the room making sure everything was great and ironed a lot of the clothes the day of. After having an amazing ceremony, we went for two hours to take photographs. Fernando was so excited and did a great job. Cindy was with us and had all of the small things to make it more comfortable - my tennis shoes, water, a towel and my make-up. She went above and beyond to make sure that we had a perfect day. I would not have imagined a more wonderful day. The rooms were well worth the price. Everything is well put together and planned out. The Eclipse tours were very convenient and I am glad we did not take taxis. The tour drivers were extremely nice. Cala Luna was the perfect choice for a honeymoon. It seemed like everyone we met there was on honeymoon too. It was a relaxed environment and a lot of fun stuff to do. Overall we had the best time and got more than we could have ever expected from the Peace Lodge. If there is anyway that we can comment about our experience anywhere please let me know. Cam and Eric Dziubarczyk June 2004 "Ed and I just had to tell you what a fabulous time we had in Costa Rica the end of January. Our first night we stayed at the Grano de Oro in San Jose. It was a lovely inn in the middle of town, the dinner we had that evening was on the terrace, very romantic under the stars, a great way to begin our vacation. The next day we flew to Quepos and then on to Manuel Antonio by car. We stayed at the El Parador Hotel which was absolutely exquisite, the service was impeccable and the meals were sublime. Our activities included: a canopy tour, a full day of horseback riding to a gorgeous waterfall with a swimming hole at its foot, a sea kayaking tour, a day of deep sea fishing and a tour of the national park in Manuel Antonio, We would highly recommend a visit to Costa Rica, the people are so friendly and accommodating. They are more interested in learning to speak English that they are expecting you to speak Spanish, so language is not a barrier. We hope to return to Costa Rica in the near future to explore the rest of their beautiful country! Every tour we went on was professionally guided and most of them were just the two of us, no big groups, very personal. We had transfers to and from everywhere, there was always a car or a van waiting for us, we never had to wait, nor did we ever have to worry that we might be stranded. Janet and Ed Raban March 2004 "We just returned from a trip we booked with you to Tortuguero (Tortuga), Lapa Rios and Monteverde (Monteverde Lodge). It was the BEST vacation we have ever had. The arrangements you made were impeccable. I don't think we touched our luggage once for the entire trip. At every transfer we were met by incredibly friendly guides and drivers who were always prompt and courteous. They went out of their way to be helpful! On one transfer the van to Monteverde was a little late because someone they were picking up before us was delayed in checking out. They sent ANOTHER VAN so we could wait in it until ours came. I think they must have apologized twenty times! The guides were very knowledgeable about the country, its wildlife, the rainforest, ect. There wasn't a single question they couldn't answer in an intelligent way. All of the guides and hotel staff spoke flawless English. Despite the sometimes primitive roads, the vans we were transported in were very comfortable. The hotels were outstanding but, of course, Lapa Rios was the jewel. The food was amazing. Again, the staff at all of the hotels did everything to make us comfortable and welcome. Grano de Oro is a beautiful and charming hotel and the restaurant is deserving of five stars. Costa Rica is a great country and we cannot wait to return. As you know, tourism is their #1 industry and all of the people we had contact with let us know in word and deed how important we are to them.
