Almonds & Corals Hotel

Located in the heart of the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, Almonds and Corals is a unique destination. Staying at Almonds and Corals hotel offers you the opportunity to get a feeling of the jungle while having luxury accommodations in the middle of the wild rainforest. The hotel consists of 24 bungalows that lie under giant trees in a forest so dense that the sunrays hardly touch the ground. Each bungalow is a freestanding platform raised on stilts and linked by boardwalks lit by kerosene lamps. They are protected by a peaked roof, enclosed in mosquito netting, and equipped with electric lamps, fans, beds, hammocks, sofa and a private bath. A short walk away is golden sand beach with thatched beach umbrellas. Azania Bungalows

Among the Caribbean villages of Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo, in the South Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, right in front of Cocles Beach, are the Azania Bungalows. The 8 spacious and tastefully decorated bungalows comfortably lodges up to four people, with one queen size bed and two twin size beds, one of them placed in the mezzanine to provide privacy. All are decorated with bamboo lamps and furniture, ceiling fans, large windows with mosquito nets and high peaked roofs. Each bungalow comes with its own private deck and hammock for relaxation and enjoyment of the tropical gardens and the great variety of birds and butterflies. The Restaurant is located at the “Quincho” style rancho next to the swimming pool and combines Argentinean cuisine with local ingredients and flavors. Samasati Nature Retreat

Samasati Nature Retreat is located 30 miles South of Puerto Limón on the Caribbean coast. Samasati is retreat facility and Eco Resort situated on 250 acres of virgin tropical forest overlooking the Caribbean Sea in the marvelous country of Costa Rica. Selva Bananito Lodge

Selva Bananito Lodge is located at the foot of Cerro Muchilla, or Muchilla Mountain, in the Province of Limón on the Atlantic side of Costa Rica. This is a family owned lodge adjacent to La Amistad Biosphere. Eleven cabins stand on stilts, in traditional Caribbean style with decks. A main lodge has a dining area, bar, and small library upstairs, and kitchen. Enjoy guided rain forest tours and outstanding bird watching. Rappel down a jungle waterfall, and explore the canopy of gigantic trees. Cool off in clean streams before taking a horseback ride through a sea of greens.

Shawanda Lodge

Shawanda is the Lodge on the southern Caribbean coast whose intention is to co-exist with respect for nature. This small property is designed like a primitive village with 12 private thatch-roofed bungalows surrounded by tropical gardens. It features spacious bungalows constructed with palm roofs, each its own terrace. On site is a gourmet restaurant. Take an excursion to Cahuita National Park, glide over the coral reefs in a glass bottom boat, snorkel, scuba dive or surf the waves of the Caribbean. Other activities include river or sea kayaking or visiting butterfly farms, iguana farms, botanical gardens, bird watching or visiting the local Indian reservations.

Costa Rica Tree House Lodge

Tree House Lodge consists of three individual, distinct houses that have been entirely built of sustainable woods, obtained out of fallen trees. The complex is located on a 10 acre ocean front property in the famous Punta Uva beach, just south of Puerto Viejo in the province of Limon. Punta Uva is considered to be one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic Coast.

The Tree House is built into and around a large tree on two levels with adventurous steel cable bridges that lead to your bedroom in the trees. The bathroom is in between massive air roots of the Sangrillo tree and the kitchen is between the giants of the forest.

The Beach House is the closet to the beach and features views of ocean.

The Beach Suite includes 3 bedrooms, a wide living room connected to the kitchen and an 800 square foot spectacular doomed bathroom. There is direct access to the beach from the front of the property.

Hiking in the Gandoca-Manzanillo wildlife refuge, surf and whitewater rafting are some of the activites you can enjoy here.
