Scuba diving in Costa Rica is characterized by nutrient rich, warm water attracting large numbers of schooling fish and “big animal” sightings including whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, turtles and an occasional whale. Most dives are around lively pinnacle rock formations at depths of 40-100 feet with visibility from 20-80 feet. Popular dive sights are reached from the beaches of the Northern Pacific coast, around Cano Island (accessible from Drake Bay on the Osa Peninsula) and the Caribbean reef and wrecks off Cahuíta. Many resorts offer diving along the coast. We represent full service, PADI certified dive shops to insure a safe and rewarding experience. Enjoy the tropical, warm waters year round.
Snorkeling is a great way to see the underwater world for those who do not scuba dive. Great areas for snorkeling are Cano Island off the coast of Drake Bay and Tortuga Island. A unique marine and terrestrial ecosystem is the National Park of Cahuita. Another interesting ecosystem is found at Golfo Dulce providing for an array of snorkeling opportunity for the beginning or advanced snorkeling enthusiast.
