Shawanda Lodge on the southern Caribbean Coast is a place whose intention is to co-exist with respect for nature. On site is a gourmet restaurant. Take an excursion to Cahuita National Park, glide over the coral reefs in a glass bottom boat, snorkel, scuba dive or surf the waves of the Caribbean. Other activities include river or sea kayaking or visiting butterfly farms, iguana farms, botanical gardens, bird watching or visiting the local Indian reservations. If simply relaxing on the beach seems vacation enough, no fear! Take the time to relax and enjoy all the different shades of blue that can be seen in the waters of the Caribbean.
Shawanda Lodge Rooms
This small property is designed like a primitive village with 12 private thatch-roofed bungalows surrounded by tropical gardens. It features spacious bungalows constructed with palm roofs, each its own terrace. The hammock on the terrace is the perfect place to relax with a book, or contemplate the beautiful and vibrant vegetation. All of the bungalows are unique, with individual character and style. Since the goal of Shawanda Lodge is to attempt to coexist as peacefully and naturally with the environment as possible, the lodge prefers to avoid the use of television and air conditioning.
